Up for sale is an Artisan Strings Marcato Model 100 Viola Outfit, measuring 13 inches, manufactured in 2006 and bearing Serial Number 4290. Produced by Artisan Strings, a division of the Gemeinhardt Company LLC, this compact viola was designed specifically for younger students and players requiring a smaller viola while maintaining traditional viola tone and feel.

This instrument features a warm reddish-brown transparent varnish over a spruce top with maple back and sides. The body displays attractive wood grain throughout, while the ebony-style fingerboard, pegs, chinrest, and tailpiece provide a classic appearance and dependable functionality. The tailpiece is fitted with four integrated fine tuners for easy tuning adjustments.

Based on the photos, this viola remains in good used condition with honest signs of student ownership. The top shows scattered finish scratches, small scuffs, and areas of cosmetic wear, particularly around the lower bout and treble-side edge. There is also visible finish wear near the tailpiece area and minor edge wear around portions of the body. These cosmetic imperfections are consistent with normal use and do not detract from the overall presentation of the instrument.

The fingerboard retains multiple position markers installed by a previous owner or teacher, including upper-position tapes and a colored reference marker near the neck/body joint. These can be especially helpful for beginning students developing proper intonation.
