This is a beautiful piece of American guitar history from the golden age of the Hawaiian music craze. A Stromberg-Voisinet (predecessor to Kay) parlor guitar from the late 1920s, featuring a vibrant and well-preserved Hawaiian scene. Highlights:
- Iconic Hawaiian Scene Artwork: Tropical paradise on the lower bout — palm trees, golden sunset, reflective water, island landscape. The colors are still rich and eye-catching after nearly 100 years!
- All Solid Mahogany Body — top, back, and sides for that warm, vintage parlor tone
- Pearloid (“Mother of Toilet Seat”) Fretboard & Pickguard — flashy celluloid binding that was popular on these Chicago-made instruments
- Short Scale (approx. 24¼") with a comfortable V-shaped neck
- Gumby-style headstock with what appear to be original tuners
- The bridge appears to have been replaced at some point in the past
