An outstanding early Blackface example of Fender’s most iconic combo amplifier, this 1964 Deluxe Reverb captures everything that made the circuit legendary: shimmering top-end clarity, rich harmonic depth, lush onboard reverb, and smooth, musical breakup when pushed. A benchmark design from the golden era of American amplification, it remains one of the most recorded and gigged amplifiers in history.
This example presents in excellent plus condition with strong originality and a notably honest, well-preserved character. It has been recently serviced with a careful recap of key electrolytic components to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Importantly, the original capacitors have been retained and will be included with the amplifier, preserving its historical completeness for collectors.
Built on the classic AB763 circuit, the amp delivers its original-rated ~22 watts through a pair of 6V6 power tubes, driven by a GZ34 rectifier for smooth response and natural compression. The preamp and reverb/tremolo sections retain the original Fender topology, offering the unmistakable “Blackface” feel—fast, articulate, and dynamically responsive at every volume level.
The signal path is supported by original-Schumacher transformers, and the amplifier retains its original and highly sought after 12K5-S 12 " Oxford speaker, delivering the familiar balance of warmth, sparkle, and midrange punch that defines mid-1960s Fender tone. Together, these components produce the classic Deluxe Reverb voice: expansive, three-dimensional, and exceptionally touch-sensitive. Though the amp is almost completely original the power cable has been replaced with a grounded plug.
This amplifier comes complete with its original footswitch, cable and cover.
