Beautiful 16" viola made by and bearing the label of Timothy Jansma in Freemont, MI in 1986. The viola was converted to a 5-string viola by Randy DeBey in Portland, OR. It can be set up with a high E string or low F string, whichever is your preference! If you are able to travel to NYC, please reach out to arrange an in-person trial.
The top is of two pieces of medium grained spruce, the back is of two pieces of highly flamed quarter cut maple, the ribs and neck of similarly flamed maple. The lower rib is two pieces, joining at the endpin. The varnish is red-brown over a golden ground. Appraised in 2024 at $16,000.

Ships in lightweight adjustable oblong case, unbranded carbon fiber weave.
