If you know Martin USA - you know these are wonderful guitars. Great for bluegrass, flat picking… Great for all styles of music really.
Please read, this is the most importantly part:
This does have professionally repaired cracks two to be exact. The repairs extend the entire length of the back of the guitar, (2 long cracks) and start again on the front of the guitar, leading up to the bridge (2 again) they are very symmetrical.
The repairs were done by one of the top and most renowned luthiers in the tri-state area (Resume: Old School Manny’s & Rudy’s, if you know you know)
They are very solid and sound. They shouldn’t open again but I can’t guarantee they never will. They’ve held up a while so far. Even if they do open up, they will not affect performance, durability, or sound of the instrument, and you’d probably hardly notice if they slightly opened up again. The repairs can often be stronger than a wood-to-wood bond.
Keep in mind the back cracks BOW out ever so slightly (you can hardly notice) I just want to be descriptive as possible because this is a final and AS IS sale.
I tried to get as many angles of the cracks as possible they are ONLY on the front and back (not the sides, even though I show side angles of the guitar, there is like a tiny hairline white paint smear type blem, I’m trying to capture everything otherwise this is super clean)
The cracks are FULLY REPAIRED AND COMPLETELY SEALED.
I even included the “cleats” (photographed) on the inside. This was a really solid job, I had my guy go all out, just Wanted to make sure it would hold up.
If you don’t mind this repair, it’s a great and affordable way to get a USA Martin, it has character. Otherwise, at first glance you’d think this is a relatively new guitar.
It was recently set up. Brand new 11 Martin Retros. If you’ve always wanted a Martin and don’t mind the professional repair - this is your chance. It does feel and sound great. The case is awesome too.
Also too, this is the OLDER and MUCH PREFERRED MARTIN D-15 not THE D-15M This is made with with higher quality materials and worth more. It has a ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD AND BRIDGE which the newer counterpart DOES NOT HAVE in most cases - and many other quality USA features as well.
It’s just a better made and sounding instrument. Martin enthusiasts universally agree.
Any questions please ask. As such, this will be heavily discounted. Any other angles I can provide, reassurances - I’d be happy to do so.
I want to be as detailed as possible on a repaired instrument as this is a final sale.
I want you to know what you’re getting and be happy with it. Please know you’re buying a repaired instrument.
With that being said, I’m probably being modest and talking it down - I want you to be surprised with it or at least right on point rather than let down. Just know it comes with my full disclosure and honesty. Will be packed like a pro.
One last note, like most stock USA MARTINS -there are no built-in electronics.
We had a significant, sudden, and tragic death in the family - expenses surrounding this have been costly. Only reason I’m selling my beloved Martin. Looking to make a reasonable deal. Let’s talk.
