The Alesis ADAT-HD24XR is a highly regarded, 24-track hard disk recorder. It captures high-resolution audio (up to 24-bit/96kHz) using standard, hot-swappable IDE computer hard drives. Known as the premium version of the standard HD24, the "XR" features superior MasterLink-quality A/D and D/A converters.

• Size Limits: Older BIOS versions may limit hard drive recognition, requiring careful drive partitioning (often around 32GB) or a BIOS update.
