For auction is this Martin 0-18 guitar, serial number 44938, from 1930. The guitar has an Adirondack Spruce top and the sides are Honduran Mahogany.

I purchased this guitar about 10 years ago and had the neck reset and three of the top frets replaced with period correct fret bars. During the reset, the fingerboard was lifted a bit with an ebony ramp under the tail end. The bridge is an original Martin bridge as is the bridge plate and some of the pins are original as well. The nut was replaced as was the saddle. The high E used to buzz a bit but my luthier added a drop of super glue to the groove and it now plays without buzzing. String spacing at the 12th fret is 2.25mm low e and 1.75mm on the high e string. Please note there is fingerboard wear on the first four frets but this has not effected playability form me (see photo 7). The nut width is 1 7/8".

There are no cracks that I have seen but there is wear and damage to the sides and back. There are also a few nicks in the back of the neck but they are up high and were not a bother for me when playing. The guitar might have been refinished but I am unsure of this.

If you need additional images please contact me. The guitar has been properly humidified while in my care.

There is a newer Martin 3 Ply case with 5 latches that is included. There is a small tear in the tolex on the back of the case.

According to the gentleman i purchased this guitar from, the guitar was originally owned by Harlan Hall of Rome, Georgia. Harlan played this guitar all of his life. His son Carlson remembers his dad playing in theaters and barbershops. Harlan was unable to make a living playing guitar so he took up trade as a mechanic. Harlan also played the banjo and violin. This guitar was purchased by the previous owner from Carlson Hall, son of the original owner.

The guitar will be well packed and insured, requiring a signature upon delivery via Fedex or UPS.

The guitar is listed elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction if needed.
