Welcome to the listing for a superb quality and rare left-handed guitar:
a Hohner L-59 Professional Series in Heritage Cherry Burst.
It was made in the early 1990s.
In A+ excellent condition for its over 30 years of vintage, from a smoke-free home and only used at home.
Comes from private collection - ore photos available after 22/06/26.
Please note - guitar is located in Newport, Shropshire.
This is a Gibson Les Paul Custom replica at a fraction of the cost of the real thing (which goes for around £3,000 these days).
The Hohner Professional L-59 series was introduced in the late 1980s to compete against MIJ (Made in Japan) copies of the Gibson Les Paul Custom. In terms of playability, craftsmanship, hardware, and sound, this guitar is on par with Made in Japan Tokai, Orville, or Burny Custom Les Pauls, which frequently sell for over £1,000.

An excellent addition to any left-handed guitar collection!!!

The Hohner L59 Professional is a rare find on the second-hand market, especially in a left-handed configuration, as it is a highly sought-after instrument among musicians and pro-level players. There are loads of online reviews that put these fine instruments in the same league as Made in Japan Orville by Gibson, Burny, and others, with some even comparing them to USA Les Pauls.

Hohner Professional Series – the story behind this fantastic line-up:
Around 1986, Hohner USA contracted Cort-Tek to manufacture the Hohner Professional Series. This line-up was introduced to the marketplace to compete directly with Japanese-made Tokai, Burny, and Orville guitars, which were heavily marketed across Europe and the USA during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Cor-Tek used excellent quality timber and electronics, and introduced strict quality control procedures to the Professional Series. This ensured their products were on par with Japanese guitars of the time regarding fit, finish, and playability. The Hohner L59 was the flagship model of the Hohner Professional Series back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, retailing in the UK for an average price of approximately £800 at the time. Built to deliver the best playability and tone possible, this guitar looks and plays beautifully.

HOHNER PROFESSIONAL L59 - TECHNICAL SPECS:
NECK:
Solid, chunky, 60s-style Mahogany set-neck that gives great sustain and is surprisingly fast-playing. It features a very comfy profile and comes fitted with 22 Chrome Medium Jumbo frets.
High-quality dark Rosewood fingerboard with Classic Vintage Trapezoid-shaped inlays.
Flat 10" radius fretboard for increased playability.
Features a beautiful Mother of Pearl ‘Hohner Professional Series’ logo inlay and 5-ply binding around the headstock.
BODY:
The single-cutaway, well-balanced body is one of the most accurate copies of an LP Custom. According to factory information, it is made from solid Californian maple. Notably, the original 1950s Les Paul prototype was also designed with a maple body. However, Gibson USA ultimately switched to mahogany for mass production because it is softer and much easier to process.
The guitar comes with a beautiful Flame Maple arched top in Heritage Cherry finish - one of the most beautiful I have seen around. The back of the body is covered with an approximate 4mm layer of Swamp Ash, which looks gorgeous (please see photos). No major scratches can be seen anywhere on the body, it is in A+ excellent condition.
The years have yellowed the binding, giving it a stunning aged look - please see the pictures! The craftsmanship and finish make this flagship Hohner model from the Professional Series a true masterpiece. This is a truly beautiful instrument, and the pictures do not do it justice. The impressive 5-ply cream-and-black binding around the body (front, back, and headstock) adds another touch of luxury to this instrument.
ELECTRONICS:
Great-sounding humbuckers with a beautiful, full, and thick vintage sound. They offer great balance, singing sustain, and very good cleans on the neck pickup. The bridge pickup is musical and lively, delivering clear and crisp highs without being too brittle. The lows have a nice vintage growl. It comes with excellent balance for a bridge-located humbucker, with a hint of high-mids to allow your notes to cut through even better.
