The Zemaitis MFG-AC-24 Natural has arrived.
Tony Zemaitis, a native of London, England, began his career as a furniture craftsman, laying the foundation for the woodworking techniques, design, and ornamentation that would define his guitar-making. He developed an interest in guitars around 1950. Since guitars were difficult to come by at the time, he borrowed a friend’s classical guitar and eventually decided to make his own. The beginning of Zemaitis Guitars was marked by this cycle of building and selling his own instruments. Around 1965, as he began guitar making in earnest, he created the metal front that has become his signature feature. Initially, he incorporated the idea of a highly shielded metal front into his guitars to reduce hum noise in electric guitars, and the low-noise effect was proven. However, it wasn’t just about noise reduction; aided by the beautiful engraved designs applied to each individual instrument, it became a talking point among rock artists of the time and evolved into the trademark of Zemaitis Guitars.
Today, to preserve the tradition established by Tony Zemaitis, Japanese manufacturer Kanda Shokai has created Japanese-made Zemaitis guitars crafted by skilled artisans using the original templates, blueprints, and notes inherited from Tony.
Used by Japanese rock stars as well as international artists, Zemaitis offers the ultimate guitar experience—one that stands out from other brands.
Production takes place in the same factory that crafts Zemaitis’s top-tier THE PORTRAIT model,
as well as the Pearl Front and Signature models.
The metal front, adorned with beautiful engraving, is a stunning design that turns heads and leaves a lasting impression—
it is also a symbol of Zemaitis. I believe a guitar’s role is not only to shape the sound but also to enhance the guitarist’s performance.
This model is compact and agile, and at approximately 3.91 kg, it is a lightweight guitar.
It feels less taxing on the body, whether performing live or playing at home.
As a Zemaitis owner myself, I find it to be a guitar that is easy to handle and excels in performance.
It features a 24-fret design, allowing for a wide range of musical styles—from rock to modern music and J-Rock.
Japanese guitarists active on the world stage also use Zemaitis models with 24 frets.
It’s equipped with the “Dragon Classic” pickup!
The Dragon Classic was originally designed to achieve a vintage humbucker sound, but the final result is a powerful tone that’s perfectly suited for Zemaitis, making it a pickup specialized for rock and a wide range of genres.
Not only does it deliver great drive tones, but its clean tone projection is exceptional.
Production numbers for this guitar are limited, and the next shipment is undecided, so don’t miss out!
Zemaitis has released the “MFG-AC-24,” a metal-front model featuring engraved decorations on the top.
This high-grade model is crafted in the same factory that produces Zemaitis's top-of-the-line models.
It features a single-cutaway body style with a pronounced waist, constructed from carefully selected African mahogany for the body and neck, with an ebony fingerboard.
It features a 635mm scale length, a set-neck joint, and a medium-sized 24-fret fingerboard.
It features a classic look, highlighted by an aluminum alloy plate on the body top engraved with Zemaitis’ signature leaf motif across the entire surface, along with the inscription “A.C. ZEMAITIS SINCE 1955” symbolizing the brand’s heritage.
It is equipped with a bridge and tailpiece made from Zemaitis’ original aluminum alloy, which is a key element in producing the brand’s unique tone.
Similarly, engraved details are found throughout the instrument, from the aluminum alloy headstock diamond emblem, truss rod cover, tailpiece, and pickup rings, all the way to the output jack plate and the control and switch backplate.
It is equipped with two metal-covered Dragon Classic humbucker pickups. The controls utilize the well-regarded CTS pots, arranged with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup.
It features a Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector switch, and the tone capacitors are Orange Drop.
Additionally, it is equipped with highly reliable Gotoh tuners.
The finish is lacquer, and the color is natural.
A hard case is included.
