Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a older, quality Atlas studio floor stand from the 1960's / 70's era Atlas. It's the MS-25 model based on the rarer BS-36W microphone floor stand built in Parsippany, NJ and was the higher end model in the Atlas Corp line up. This example comes with the rarer 3 piece riser set up as well. This entire unit was disassembled and cleaned.

This midcentury American made stand is built like a tank and was an outstanding choice for just about any on stage or studio situation giving the user quite a bit of height and length to work with. It comes with the period Atlas CH-1 "cable hanger" seen in the pics provided.

Pic # 2 is from an old 1960's era Atlas catalog showing this very mic stand and it's basic characteristics. The MS-25 model was a very stable platform having the wide heavy base making it very difficult to tip over. Piece of mind if you are worried about such things.

Pic # 3 shows Jonny Cash using one of these very models during his Folsom Prison concert back in the late 1960's.

In the late 1940's when Atlas Corp first became a company they created the MS-24 model floor stand that had a similar triangular style base that was a bit more on the deco side but they soon phased that out and created the MS-25 around 1950 which was more modern looking. This style of MS-25 was virtually unchanged until around the 1990's. The newer versions have been built in China but this is the early example. It's far from perfect but it looks pretty good still and works excellent. They haven't built the MS-25 with the 3 piece chrome riser set up in probably 40 to 50 years at least.

The MS-25 is a real beast weighing in at 24 pounds and had an adjustable height of 42 inches low to 89 inches tall giving you more than enough height to work with.

This stand shows typical wear but it's still in very good overall condition.

The chrome on the chrome riser have just very lite scratches. The original Atlas decal is still present despite years of use but does show heavier wear. The clutch mechanisms to lower the  risers work accordingly and in very nice condition. The cast iron base with original dark grey paint shows heavier discoloration and some corrosion. No fractures however and decent as it's about 60 to 70 years old. All 3 original pads were missing so I applied 3 new heavy duty felt pads with resin to keep them firmly in place and they do the job very well.

Again, this stand will accept any screw on mic or mic clip you have.

Overall this stand is an easy 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10. I'm very picky though. Others would probably find it much nicer or worse.

The original Atlas CH-1 cable hanger is mounted to the bottom riser of the stand and helps to collect any access cable you don't want getting in the way. It shows lite wear but works perfectly.

Due to recent price increases at the Postal Service I cannot ship this for any less than stated.

I do combine shipping which will save a lot of money if you plane on buying multiple items or more stands.
