Up for sale is a stunning 1993 Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium Plus that was originally a Japanese-market import. This is from the highly desirable early ’90s Les Paul Classic era, and it has an absolutely killer carved maple top with deep, dramatic flame and a rich amber/honeyburst look. It has the early Classic look and feel, but with player-friendly upgrades that make it a great stage or studio guitar.

The guitar weighs 9 lb 1 oz, which is a very reasonable weight for a full-depth Les Paul from this period. It has the classic Les Paul feel: solid, resonant, and sustaining, without being an extreme boat anchor.

This example has been upgraded with locking tuners, high-grade replacement electronics, and a set of Gibson ’57 Classic pickups. I do not have the original tuners, pickups, or electronics. The ’57 Classics are a great match for this guitar: clear, warm, articulate PAF-style tones with plenty of vintage Les Paul character.

Condition is approximately 8/10. This guitar has been played and enjoyed, and it shows honest play wear throughout, including various marks, dings, scratches, and signs of regular use. Nothing about it feels abused, but it is not a case queen. The top is still extremely striking, and the wear gives it the look of a real player rather than a pristine wall-hanger. The frets are in great shape and appear to have been refretted at some point, which is a plus from a playability standpoint. It plays comfortably up and down the neck and is ready to be used without needing immediate fret work.

Comes with its original Gibson brown/pink shroud case, which is a very nice bonus and adds to the appeal of the guitar.
