This was a prototype bass that was designed and built by John Carruthers, David Levine and Colin Liebich of 17th Street Guitars. This design never made it to production due to the short life of 17th street guitars Company.
This small California company was receiving rave reviews in the short period of time it was producing guitars. There is still a cult-like following of these guitars on Facebook.
This 20-fret maple neck is fast, flat and comfortable with a cool and not too bulky headstock. The black tusq nut is made by Graph Tech.
The sleek, double cutaway body has a nice red finish. The bridge is made by Hipshot. The active pickups are Bartolini BH2s controlled by 2 volume and 2 tone controls for great tone! The bass is basically new as it has only been played to demonstrate.
