This 1990 Firebird V has been upgraded in several areas. It has a Callaham ABR-1 Solid steel bridge with original posts, the pickups are Dimarzio mini humbuckers with authentic 1972 embosed nickel covers. Unbleaced bone nut has replaced the original. The tuners have been replaced with Steinberger 40:1 ratio Nickel plated(not chrome) tuners. The pickguard is a real 1976 pickguard from a 1976 Firebird, not a reproduction. The volume pots have been replaced with CTS push pull pots to give you coil splits on both humbuckers. The amount of different sound combinations this gives you is almost overwhelming. The original black knobs have been upgraded to Gold. There is a headstock repair, it was done many years ago and is rock solid, (priced accordingly).I foolishly buffed out the area and removed some of the patina. Some regular wear and tear can be found all over this instrument. Lots of fret life left, the fret ends have cracked the binding ever so slightly, still needs to be mentioned. The push pull pots are too tall to fit under the cavity cover, so I left 2 screws out and the cover sticks up a little(see photos) this has never bothered me or effected playing on stage. You would be hard pressed to find another Firebird from this era that plays as well as this. The Dimarzios are a bit hotter than the standard pickups, and when split, the bridge pickup does a fairly convincing Tele. This guitar has been sitting for a while and will probably benefit from some contact cleaner. Divorce forces sale, my loss is your gain. Comes in Gibson hardshell Firebird case
