This pedal is a clone of the JHS Angry Charlie circuit. If you're chasing that classic hot-rodded British amp sound without hauling around a half stack, this Angry Charlie clone delivers the goods. This build includes a clipping LED near the footswitch. The LED lights up when you play. The original JHS Angry Charlie does not expose the clipping LED.
Built from PedalPCB's highly regarded Angry Charlie circuit, this pedal captures the aggressive character of a cranked Marshall JCM800, covering everything from crunchy classic rock rhythm tones to saturated hard rock and lead sounds. The active 3-band EQ gives you far more control than the average distortion pedal, making it easy to tailor the sound to virtually any amp or guitar.
The gain range is huge. Roll it back for punchy classic-rock crunch, or crank it up for thick, harmonically rich distortion with endless sustain. Unlike many high-gain pedals that become fizzy or compressed, the Angry Charlie design retains clarity and note definition while delivering serious attitude.
Traditional waterslide decal on a powder coated gloss yeallow Tayda enclosure. The label has been clear coated for durability. The knobs are 15mm anodized blue. Lumberg D.C. jack and two Switchcraft stereo jacks.
