Gretsch USA Brooklyn Chrome over Brass snare with Upgraded Die Cast hoops And 25 strand World Max Brass Snare wires. ( Hoops can also be swapped out for the Original Brooklyn 302 hoops on request)

The main difference between the Gretsch Brooklyn and Gretsch USA Custom Chrome Over Brass (COB)snare drums comes down to the hoops, snare wires, and badges. Both drums actually share the exact same premium, 1.2mm rolled and knurled chrome-plated brass shell made in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

If you prefer the original 302 double flange hoops they can be swapped out.
With the upgrades you are basically getting a USA Custom for the price of a USA Brooklyn

  • The Brooklyn "302" Hoops: These are heavy, double-flanged hoops inspired by vintage 1950s designs. They are lighter in weight than die-cast hoops, allowing the brass shell to breathe.
This gives you a more lively, open sound with singing high-end overtones and a softer feel on rimshots. [
  • The USA Custom Die-Cast Hoops: These hoops are much more rigid and heavy. They lock down the shell's vibration, which dries up excess ring and focuses the tone.
You get a massive, piercing rimshot and a highly controlled crack that sound engineers love in the studio.
