Vintage 1972 Argos Desktop Guitar Cab with Technics 4" Speaker

Custom-built passive desktop monitor / low-wattage guitar extension cabinet housed in an original vintage Argos Products Co. WB4.5 slant-front wedge enclosure.

This build combines a vintage American cabinet with a Japanese Technics full-range driver and modern connectivity. The original Argos enclosure retains its golden oak-style finish and original factory label on the bottom. A new brown/tan striped acoustic grille cloth has been installed, preserving the vintage aesthetic while updating the appearance.

The cabinet is loaded with a Technics EAS-10PL343T 4" driver featuring a gold-finished steel chassis.

To improve compatibility with common guitar amplifiers and audio equipment, a 2-ohm power resistor has been installed in series with the original 6-ohm driver, resulting in an approximate 8-ohm cabinet load. Connectivity has been updated with a flush-mounted 1/4" TS mono speaker jack installed on the side panel.

The cabinet has been tested and is fully functional.
