The Yamaha AV7 is a high quality fractional violin -- a major step up from Yamaha's AV3 beginner model and AV5 progressing model. In the 1/4 size, the AV7 is quite rare due to its exceptionally high store price.

The violin is made with remarkable precision and is light and responsive. Despite its very small size, it is capable of producing rich, nuanced tone that would compete with larger instruments. The violin "rings."

The instrument is fully hand-carved from fine quality, thoroughly seasoned and aged woods. It features a high grade Spruce top and deeply flamed Maple back, sides, and neck. The violin is artfully shaded and hand-varnished using Cremona style oil varnishing technique.

Structurally, this violin is  defect-free -- there are no cracks, seam separations, repairs, or any other structural issues. Cosmetically, there is a minor scratch at the edge of the lower right bout (not a crack, and smooth to the touch). Otherwise, the cosmetic condition is very good.

The violin has brand new Alphayue strings installed and comes with a Suzuki case and Suzuki bow. The shoulder rest and rosin are also included.

In the U.S. market, this violin is distributed under the model name AV7-14SG (with the letter "A" for "America"); in other markets, the model name is V7-14SG. However, the violin's specifications are identical worldwide.

Since the introduction of the new tariff regime in the United States, the brand new U.S. price for the AV7 model has increased significantly. The Yamaha AV7 is currently offered by major US retailers -- irrespective of size -- for $1,945 for the full Yamaha outfit, of which about approximately $1500 can be allocated to the violin itself. You may wish to take a minute to visit a few websites, such as Musicians Friend, Amazon, IHOMI, Irvine Art and Music, and others to validate the price point.

This is the opportunity to own this high quality 1/4-size instrument at a small fraction of the store price.
