Up for sale is a highly collectible, early production vintage Boss BF-2 Flanger. This isn't the standard, mass-produced BF-2 from the mid-80s or 90s. This is a rare, coveted "Silver Screw" Made in Japan (MIJ) edition dating to roughly 1980–1981. It features all the hallmark characteristics that vintage Boss collectors search for: the original polished metal thumb screw for the battery compartment, the earliest all-black plastic knobs (before they switched to colored metal caps), and the bold, wide font text on the black bottom label.
Under the hood, this pedal delivers the legendary, lush, and swooshing analog modulation that made the early BF-2 famous. It uses premium Japanese bucket-brigade circuitry to provide everything from subtle, warm chorus-like textures to jet-plane flanging sweeps that modern digital recreations just can't match.
Controls:
Manual: Adjusts the center frequency of the delay time.
Depth: Controls the sweep range of the modulation.
Rate: Controls the speed of the flanging effect.
Res (Resonance): Adjusts the amount of feedback for that classic dramatic, metallic "jet" sound.
Condition:
The pedal is in great vintage "player grade" cosmetic condition. It shows some honest signs of age and history—minor paint chipping along the edges, light oxidization on the metal parts, and typical wear on the rubber pad—but the graphics are perfectly sharp and legible. It has incredible vintage mojo and looks exactly like a 45-year-old classic should.
Note: This is an early Boss ACA circuit pedal. It runs perfectly on a standard 9V battery, or on a 12V ACA power supply. If powered by a standard modern 9V DC daisy chain, it should be linked alongside other modern pedals to ensure full power to the LED.
