Hello music lovers : Here's a beautiful rare bird.A Gibson DSM (Dreadnought Solid Mahogany) 2008 acoustic Hand Crafted in Canada. Solid Mahogany, autographed Gibson tuners. That's right,a Made in Canada. Gibson at that time was doing what Martin and Taylor were doing in Mexico, building less expensive guitars. They were built at the Garrison factory which they bought out. They were known as The Songmaker series. way superior to any of the lower priced Gibson models: G series,HK/HP series,J15 walnut,J45 walnut. This is way above any of those models. They came with a Gibson HS CASE. I am not the original owner. I got this at a yard sale with no case and a triangle shaped box. It was in great shape in spite of being in this cheap triangle box, very clean inside the sound hole which is great. The outside was played but never cleaned. It had the same 18 year old yukky strings and fretboard sweat, fingerprint markings. The first two things I did was take it to my local music store and got a refresher. Cleaning, polished, buffed, truss rod adjustment, set up,new strings. I also bought a brand new Gibson HS CASE. I spent almost $300 dollars for the case and the refresher. This is a very upscale guitar and deserves an upscale Gibson case. The original guitar came with a Gibson HS case so I wasn't going to sell it with a gigbag, not even a Gibson gigbag.A copy of the receipt for the refresher is in the pictures. It looks beautiful as you can see in the pictures. This guitar is percentage points from mint. The only reason I didn't list it as mint is that whoever owned it put a strap pin on the heel in the bottom of the back of the neck and scraped and nicked the very bottom of the heel which has no bearing on the performance of the guitar. They're fingernail size nicks and scraped and yes,you can feel those teeny weeny nail size, rice size scratches, scraped which have absolutely no bearing on the performance of the guitar. There's a rice size scuff on the right side of the guitar. It's the equivalent of backing your car out of the driveway and the bushes scrape your back door. You can't see it, only in the sunlight. No paint came off even though you can feel the scrape. These are nail size, pinhead size heel scrapes and a few pinheads that can't be seen on the front near the bindings which is normal for an 18 year old guitar.I rate this guitar 99 out of 100. It's Percentage points from mint. Mint means not even teeny weeny, not even belt buckle that the human eye can't see. So,for transparency and no surprises, I still have to list it and show the pictures. The guitar has an excellent feel, sound and performance. This guitar stands up with any guitar in the $1700-2300 dollar ballpark. So,if you want a solid wood Gibson,a rare bird nobody else has, make it yours because when you take this out to play, people will see that Gibson case and want to see what's in that case???
