For sale is a beautiful 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop, a great example from the early Norlin era and one of the most distinctive Les Paul models of the 1970s. The serial number points to 1973, although the pots are dated January 1974.

This guitar features the classic Goldtop finish, mahogany/maple “pancake” body construction, three-piece mahogany neck with volute, rosewood fingerboard, trapezoid inlays, and the original-style Gibson mini-humbuckers that define the Les Paul Deluxe sound. With a nice weight of just 9.48 lbs / 4.297 kg, this one is a joy to play.

The mini-humbuckers deliver a clear, focused and articulate tone, with plenty of bite and definition while still retaining that unmistakable Les Paul sustain and midrange. It is a fantastic guitar for classic rock, blues, hard rock, studio work, and anyone looking for something with more clarity than a full-size humbucker Les Paul.

This one was selected for our SteelEdge Guitars Vault guitar investment fund because of its awesome sound and playability, not to mention its looks. These models have been gaining both reputation and value in recent years, and we believe prices may rise significantly over the next few years.

Condition:

The guitar is in very good vintage condition for its age, with normal play wear, checking, very small dings, and cosmetic signs of use consistent with a well-cared-for 1973 instrument. The Goldtop finish has aged beautifully and gives the guitar a great vintage look.

There are no headstock breaks and no neck repairs. The guitar plays well, sounds excellent, and has the classic feel and weight of an early 1970s Les Paul Deluxe.

It has been professionally refretted, which provides excellent playability. It doesn’t have the usual goof rings, which, in our opinion, makes the guitar look even better. Apart from some buckle rash on the back and a mark from a previously installed strap button, it is incredibly clean.

Please check all the photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the great condition of the guitar. I am happy to provide additional pictures upon request.
