This is from the very first batch of Boss CE-2 pedals, Dec 1980. CE-2's are older Boss/ACA adapter requirement - so either a Boss ACA adapter, 9v battery, or 12v adapter powers it - a typical everyday 9v 200mA adapter will not be sufficient power, the light will be dim and the output distorted (in a non-desirable manner). Plenty of info on the internet about this little quirk that some older Boss pedals have.
