Here is the amazing Gold top Les Paul Deluxe with coveted and rare Williamsville Mini Hum bucking pickups made in Gibson’s glorious Norlin era (1969 - 1986).
This beauty has a maple top/mahogany back, the neck is maple, the fretboard is rosewood, the pickups are original stamped and numbered SUPER RARE Williamsville - Pat Pending mini-humbuckers and all potentiometers are Gibson / CTS (Chicago Telephone Supply).
The metal parts (bridge, tailpiece, strap buttons, tuners & screws show some tarnish and clouding, the gold paint is aging/checking BEAUTIFULLY with one large concentrated area of checking on the top but is otherwise in AMAZINGLY well cared for cosmetic and working order (see pics). There are the typical hairline cracks in the neck binding, some scratches and dings - the back is surprisingly free of the usual buckle rash and the guitar as a whole has clearly well cared for. It does appear to me (based only on my experience) that the knobs are NOT ORIGINAL. They look great, they seem to be Norlin or newer era Gibson and they have been on the guitar a while - but not since 1978.
The "players" thin neck is straight and in beautiful condition front and back, and the truss rod functions properly with a ton of room.
The nut and frets are original and there is still plenty of height to play without any problems. The nut width is 42mm, and the elegantly thin neck gives a clean grip good and amazingly comfortable playability.
It has incredible sound that combines the sharp definition of a single-coil pickup with the thickness of a humbucker. The mini-humbucker's glossy, clear highs, rich and tight mid-low range, and dry, clear, well-defined tone make it suitable for a wide range of genres, from rock to blues and jazz.
Comes in its Gen 2 (3 latch) Gibson Chainsaw case which is in almost museum condition but is missing the interior retaining strap. Ask any questions or request specific photos.
