This thing has Tone for days! The neck is thick, but not as thick as the 1993 one which I just sold previously. The more modern versions have an even thinner neck than this one. The guitar does have a few nicks and scratches here and there, but it plays great and the paint looks really nice. I have to say I am a bit hesitant to part with this bad boy, because I do think that with Jeff's passing, these have the potential to become real collector's items in the future. I'm the only owner, and it's probably the best guitar I've ever owned in terms of pure tone, versatility, and playability. It's gonna hurt to sell!

The 1994 Fender Jeff Beck Signature Stratocaster in Midnight Purple is one of the most sought-after and iconic finishes from the first iteration of his Artist Series [1, 2, 3]. Originally launched in 1990, these early "baseball bat" neck models were offered in distinct custom colors, with the deep metallic Midnight Purple being a major fan favorite.

Key Specs & Features

  • Pickups: 3 Fender Lace Sensor pickups—specifically Gold Lace Sensors in the neck and middle, and a "Dually" (double) Lace Sensor in the bridge. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Electronics: A special push-button switch in the circuit kicks in the second bridge unit, allowing for a thicker, humbucker-like sound. [1]
  • Hardware: An LSR roller nut and Schaller locking tuners for intense tremolo action without falling out of tune, paired with a two-point American Standard tremolo bridge. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Neck Profile: Early versions of this guitar featured a massive, early-'50s deep "U" profile, which Jeff Beck preferred for sustain and tone. (Note: Fender updated and slimmed the neck to a modern "C" carve when the series was revised in 2001). [1, 2, 3]
