It features a spruce top paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides—including the distinctive three-piece back that sets the D-35 apart—for deep, powerful tone and classic Martin resonance. Forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing adds clarity and responsiveness, while the gloss black finish, antique white binding, and abalone rosette reflect Cash’s bold, no-frills aesthetic. A bound ebony fingerboard showcases abalone star inlays and Johnny’s signature at the 20th fret. With a Modified Low Oval neck and optional electronics, it’s built to perform—and it comes in a custom all black hard-shell case with distinctive black felt inside and black hardware latches.
