This Martin Custom Shop 45 Style Super D was designed by Tone Shop Guitars in collaboration with the Martin Custom Shop, built around a premium Adirondack spruce top and a striking set of Cocobolo back and sides selected for this custom build. It takes Martin’s larger Super Dreadnought platform and pushes it into full custom territory with bold tonewoods, Style 45 pearl appointments, and a huge, powerful acoustic voice.

The Super D body gives this guitar a bigger footprint than a standard dreadnought, with the kind of depth, projection, and low-end authority that makes it feel massive without losing definition. Adirondack spruce gives the top plenty of headroom and dynamic range, while Cocobolo adds power, clarity, and a rich overtone profile with a seriously dramatic look.

The top is braced with Adirondack spruce in a scalloped X-brace pattern with Golden Era hand shaping. That combination keeps the guitar responsive and musical, while still letting the larger body do what it does best: move air. It is built for players who want a commanding acoustic with premium Custom Shop detail and serious visual presence.

The neck features a GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper, a 1 3/4" nut width, and a black ebony fingerboard with Style 45 Hexagon inlays. A Cocobolo headplate with CFM block inlay ties the wood selection into the headstock, while the Style 45 pearl perimeter, Style 45 Boltaron rosette with select abalone, antique white binding, and gold Grover StaTite tuners complete the build.
