Up For sale is this beautiful 2013 Gibson SG/Les Paul ‘61 reissue in dark cherry. It is in great shape except for a few tiny dings and typical light scratches from play wear that I can’t even photopraph. There is a bit of finish wear at the bottom of the headstock where the guitar was hung, but again you can barely see them or feel them and they can’t be photographed. It’s purely cosmetic and looks as though it just took off a razor thin layer of the top nitro finish. There is no buckle rash. This guitar has never been gigged with and has spent most of its time in the case in my smoke free home. I really don’t want to sell it, but I just bought another SG and I can’t afford to keep both.

The only reason I’m selling it is because I just prefer stop bar models, which is the one I just bought. I always wanted to own an SG with a vibrola and it’s been great, but it’s not practical enough for me. I just never use it.

I am the second owner of this guitar. When I bought it in 2015 it had already been modified with Sheptone Blue Sky humbuckers replacements, which are inspired by the tones of the Allman Brothers’ Dickey Betts. Currently they sell for around $800+/set. They are made with alnico 4 magnets and sound great. You can go to the Sheptone website for information and specs and if you want. I do not have the original pickups. The guitar has also been upgraded with Goodall capacitors. The guitar currently has a Schaller roller bridge on it that I purchased from Stew Mac. It is designed to help with tuning stability and smoother operation with the vibrola. I will include the original Tune-o-matic bridge (nylon saddles) with the guitar. Lastly, the guitar also comes with Kluson locking tuners. The Closen locking tuners were already on the guitar when I bought it. The hard shell case has a few minor scuffs, but ultimately is in excellent condition.
