Up for sale is an incredibly rare, collectible-grade piece of boutique pedal history: a First Edition Keeley Electronics Sfocato Fuzz Wah, released in early 2015.
This is an exceptionally scarce unit from the very first limited production run. To commemorate the debut of this model, Robert Keeley hand-signed the front edge of the enclosure in black enamel marker. This pedal is Serial Number F0021, making it an ultra-low, single-batch collector's piece that remains in absolute pristine condition.
The Tone Machine:The Sfocato is an aggressive, touch-sensitive fuzz paired with a fixed, Italian-inspired wah circuit built directly into the tone sweep. Inside, Keeley utilized a dual BC109 silicon transistor architecture to deliver a thick, wooly, classic 1970s fuzz texture.
Instead of dealing with a traditional foot-rocking wah pedal to track down your lead tone, the Sfocato lets you dial in the exact frequency "bite" using the center Wah control knob. It is the ultimate tool for achieving those legendary, fixed-wah, singing lead tones popularized by Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Mark Knopfler. A mini-toggle switch on the face also allows you to shift the bass response of the wah filter to customize how the pedal cuts through a mix.
An Historic In-House Build: The Sfocato holds a highly significant place in the Keeley timeline. It officially marked the definitive return of Keeley Electronics cutting their own enclosures completely in-house on their custom CNC machines and printing the vibrant, Italian-flag striped graphics with their UV LED printers at their Edmond, Oklahoma workshop.
Condition Details:
- Cosmetics: The high-gloss yellow powder coat and striped graphics are in absolute mint condition. The finish is sharp, vibrant, and completely free of chips, scuffs, or bench wear.
- The Signature: The hand-signed "Robert Keeley" signature on the front edge is flawless, sharp, and entirely unmarred.
- Hardware & Jacks: The single footswitch engages perfectly, the mini-toggle clicks cleanly, and all three original control knobs turn smoothly and silently. The side-mounted input, output, internal side-DIP switch access, and top-mounted power jack are pristine.
- Underside: The backplate is exceptionally clean and retains its original factory Keeley Electronics label proudly displaying the hand-stamped Serial Number F0021. It features all four original factory clear rubber feet and is entirely free of velcro, adhesive residue, or scratches.
- Power: Operates on a standard 9V DC (Center-Negative) power supply or a 9V battery.
Shipping & Protection: Given the rare, signed nature of this low-serial First Edition piece, it will be meticulously packed in heavy-duty layers of bubble wrap to preserve its pristine state. It will ship out quickly via Reverb shipping labels with full tracking and Reverb Safe Shipping insurance included. Please look closely at the high-resolution photos to verify this pedal's exceptional condition. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!
