Up for sale is a gorgeous, golden-era 2002 Taylor 814ce in excellent condition. Early 2000s Taylor guitars are highly sought after by players and collectors alike for their exceptional build quality, premium wood selection, and superb playability.

This instrument is hand-signed by Taylor co-founder Robert Taylor (see photo of label).

Specifications & Features:

  • Body Shape: Grand Auditorium (GA) with Venetian cutaway
  • Top Wood: Solid Sitka Spruce (straight and tight-grained, beautifully aged and resonant)
  • Back & Sides: Solid East Indian Rosewood
  • Neck: Tropical Mahogany with Ebony fretboard
  • Nut Width: 1-3/4”
  • Electronics: Factory-installed Fishman Onboard Prefix Stereo system (preferred by many players over the later Expression System for its reliable plugged-in tone and robust side-mounted control barn door).

Condition:
This guitar has been meticulously cared for and kept in a climate-controlled environment. The finish is clean, bright, and almost completely free of the typical clouding often seen around the binding of this era, but there are two small areas around the battery compartment and one where the neck meets the body (all shown in the photographs). Frets show minimal wear, the neck is straight, and the action is low and comfortable.

What’s Included:

  • Original Taylor deluxe hardshell case (all latches fully functional).
