BUFFET R13 in B-flat – PROFESSIONALLY OVERHAULED – EXCELLENT !!!

This Buffet R13 was manufactured around 1988 (serial #304xxx). 

Introduced in 1955, the Buffet R13 became the world’s most recognized professional clarinet thanks to its revolutionary poly-cylindrical bore design. Buffet has continuously refined the model over the decades, with the current design remaining essentially unchanged since late 80s. 

This clarinet is silver-plated which is preferable to nickel plating due to keys being less slippery. 

This instrument was professionally overhauled and is ready to play immediately. 

Work performed included:

•  Complete disassembly of the instrument
•    Body cleaned and treated with sweet almond oil
•   Tone hole surfaces inspected and resurfaced where necessary for optimal pad seal
•    New high-quality tenon corks and key bumpers installed
•    New Buffet-style GoreTex pads installed throughout (cork pad in the register key)
•   Key heights/venting and spring tensions professionally adjusted for optimal response,      tuning, and evenness

Condition:

§      No cracks

§      The chimneys are in excellent shape, all tenons are straight, no chips.

§      Keys function smoothly with excellent response

§      Silver plating is 100% intact

§      Both joints hold air pressure and vacuum

The included mouthpiece is original Buffet, in like-new condition with clean rails and table. Also included are original Buffet ligature and cap.

The original Buffet case and case cover are in very good condition with only minor cosmetic wear on the cover. There are traces of cork grease on the interior fabric. 

A professional overhaul of this quality typically costs $500+, often considerably more ($700–$750+ at well-known specialist shops).
