The Peavey ID 1G is a compact direct interface box meant to sit between a preamp output and power amp input on an instrument amp. It delivers a transformer-balanced XLR output for feeding a mixer or recording interface while keeping the signal path simple and non-EQ'd. A ground-lift switch isolates the balanced output from the line-level feed to help kill hum in different setups. It works best when patched into an effects loop or pre/power insert point. Using it straight from a guitar or bass will drop level and roll off highs, so it's really intended as a DI tap rather than a standalone box. The circuit is passive on the balanced side and provides a fixed -20 dB overall gain.
