Up for sale is a beautiful piece of vintage American tone history: a 1950s Silvertone Model 1344 1x12 Tube Combo Amp, manufactured by Sears. This 1950 masterpiece is a studio powerhouse, delivering approximately 15 to 18 watts of pure, glorious tube overdrive that compresses beautifully when pushed.
This specific unit features its highly desirable, original Rola 12" field-coil speaker with an Alnico magnet (Serial/Date Code: 285044). In fact if you're a Scorpio, this particular amp was made in late October 1950, the 44th week. If you’ve never played through a healthy field-coil speaker, the touch-responsiveness and organic sag are unmatched by modern ceramic or standard Alnico drivers. It gives you that classic "suitcase amp" grit. It includes its rare, heavy-duty fitted cloth cover, which has kept this amp remarkably well-preserved over the decades. It retains the original 2 prong electrical cord.
