Built on the foundation of the Martin D-28 Standard, this Martin Custom Shop D-28 Style combines the familiar power, balance, and versatility of one of the world's most iconic dreadnoughts with a collection of thoughtful upgrades selected by the team at Empire Music. As one of only a small number of Martin Custom Expert Dealers, we've spent years designing custom guitars that enhance the playing experience without losing sight of what makes a great Martin special. 

This guitar was designed for players who love the sound of a D-28 but prefer the feel of a traditional 1 11/16" nut width. It delivers a comfortable and familiar playing experience while preserving the tone and versatility that have made the D-28 a benchmark for generations.  

Beyond the neck, we've enhanced the guitar's responsiveness with a thin Authentic-thickness top and hand-scalloped Golden Era bracing – features that players have consistently gravitated towards in our Custom Shop designs. Together, these upgrades help the instrument respond more quickly to a lighter touch while producing greater openness, dynamic range, and harmonic complexity. The guitar retains the powerful fundamentals, balance, and projection of a traditional D-28 while offering a livelier, more responsive, and more expressive voice.  

Completing the build is a premium 5-ply Geib-style hardshell case, providing superior protection and a classic vintage-inspired presentation worthy of a Custom Shop instrument.
