1991 Custom Shop '54 Stratocaster from the John Page golden era of the Fender Custom Shop. 100% all-original and complete with OHSC, case candy, and COA.
Condition is excellent for a 35-year-old guitar, showing some mild and honest playwear, and extensive finish checking on the body that looks stunning in person. The two-tone sunburst finish is the perfect shade/fade in my opinion, on a two-piece ash body with lovely grain. Vintage-style frets are in near-perfect shape. There is some finish worn away from the upper horn which I have done my best to photograph, and some light swirling on the pickguard. Also, the handle of the tweed case has split, but doesn't affect functionality.
One-piece maple neck with a super comfortable medium soft V profile, measuring 0.85" at the 1st fret and 0.99" at the 12th. Standard vintage-spec nut width of 1.625", with a more modern 9.5" neck radius. Guitar weighs 7 lbs. 7 oz.
In my opinion, this is a perfect reissue of a first-year Stratocaster, and is close to traveling through time to the '50s and grabbing one off the wall. Truss rod is fully functional, guitar is setup with low action and minor neck relief. Plays, feels, looks and sounds excellent. Even includes chrome "ashtray" bridge cover; pretty much useless, but looks rad!
