For sale we have a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cut in Cherry finish with original chipboard case. An iconic example of late-1950s Gibson craftsmanship, this ‘59 Junior represents one of the purest and most celebrated electric guitar designs ever produced.
This particular example is dripping with vintage vibe and shows heavy play wear and patina throughout. The guitar has certainly been played and enjoyed over the years showing dings, dents, scuffs, scratches and heavy lacquer checking throughout the entire instrument. There are a handful of heavier deeper dings along the edges of the body as well as on the backside but the instrument is structurally solid with no cracks, breaks or repairs. The neck is in very good condition showing small dings scattered sparsely down the length on the backside. The Cherry finish throughout the guitar shows a good bit of fading due to UV exposure over the years. The front side of the guitar is more heavily faded with the backside retaining more of the original Cherry Red stain. All parts are original to the guitar to the best of our knowledge. Overall just a killer playing, sounding and looking late-50s Junior.
