This is one quality piece of pro audio hardware. You can read about all the uses for it online with aligning phase while recording instruments. What I used it for was a wet/dry rig in which my dry amp was analog and my wet amp was digital... and the 1-2ms of digital delay threw off the phase relationship between the amps. This tool fixed that issue flawlessly, and also allowed me to explore other sounds by manipulating phase.
