The Chromatone CT-312 is a design variation on the Janko keyboard layout. For more details, go to the manufacturer's site; to see a musician playing a Chromatone, search on YouTube. The device has 71 NOTES (not 70, but Reverb's interface doesn't provide that option).

This unit is fully functional with two minor cosmetic blemishes that do not affect the functionality of the instrument: photo 7 shows some stains surrounding the CHROMA logo on the back of the device; photo 8 shows a minor dent on the left speaker grid. There are also some slight marks from the stand used by the previous owner(s) under the device (not shown in photos).

In photo 6 you can see the I/O ports. These include:

1. BOTH Midi-in and Midi-out connections (Reverb's interface doesn't provide that option);

2. a 1/4" damper pedal input (I am showing the functional third-party one I bought for the instrument in the last photo, but am NOT including it to simplify packaging);

3. a 1/4" volume jack (no volume controller is included in this sale);

4. a 1/4" aux out (no amp or other output device is included in this sale); and

5. a 1/4" headphone jack (no headphone is included in this sale).

The small desk shown in the photos is NOT included. The sale includes the original User Manual (photos 14 and 15), the original power supply (tucked in foam supports, photos 10 and 11; NB: the device also works with D batteries, not included), and the original package (photos 12 through 15, somewhat mended but intact). There is NO sheet music support (the previous owner received it without this accessory).

Photo 13 shows a packaging feature I added, because the top row of key-caps had fallen off during shipping when I bought the device. The tape used is painter's masking tape, is easy to peal off, and will not leave any residue on the device. Photos 13 through 19 show how the device has been placed in its original package, and that package has been placed into a generic box lined with bubble wrap, popcorn, and paper pads (along edges). The reason for including these is that the previous shipper (FedEx) opened the package for an unknown reason, then repackaged it inadequately, which caused some of the key-caps of the last row to fall off during shipping.

That said, I am willing to ship within the 48 contiguous US states using UPS (more expensive, but better handling than FedEx), though the buyer is welcome to pick it up in Manhattan, NY if convenient to save the shipping expense.

This device was bought for research in isomorphic keyboard layouts, was fully tested, and kept covered at all times, so you can purchase with confidence.

The complete package weighs 14.5 kg (32 lb) and is 116 cm (46") wide, 50 cm (20") deep, and 32 cm (12 1/2") tall.
