This legendary piece of musical history is a Vintage 35-Bar, Hollow Brass Bar chime, also known as a Mark Tree. Originally invented by LA studio Percussionist Mark Stevens in 1967. Manufactured by Spectrasound, in the 70's and 80's, the company closed its doors in 2003. This Hollow Brass Bar Chime produces mystical sounds unlike other Solid Brass Chimes. The wood bar is 24" long. It can be mounted on to a cymbal stand. I purchased this bar back in 1987. It is in very good condition considering it was already used when I got it and it was played a lot in the 80's and 90's. I just replaced all the ties, so it hangs well. The bells show wear from age and natural discoloration. The picture was just taken so you can see the exact condition. One bell has a darker age spot. Listen to the video to hear the sound. It was a wonderful addition to my kit and will be a great addition to yours, to play, sample, or display for collectors.
