Where do I start with this one? It’s a beautiful 1989 Cherry Gibson ES 335 Dot. It is a fully documented Yamano export. Built in Nashville and hand selected by Yamano for export to Japan. Unlike many that didn’t make the cut this one actually ended up in Japan. It’s fully original just as it came out of Gibson’s Nashville factory back in 1989. It has some playwear with some lovely subtle vintage ageing all over the plastics, the binding turning yellow, nitrocellulose finish checking, and the metal hardware nicely tarnished. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets, which still have their nibs. The original Bill Lawrence pickups sound immense, they are very underrated humbuckers. They both sound fantastic together. Factory fitted grovers are working fine. There have been no breaks or repairs. Plays and sounds great with a comfortable ’59 profile neck. Nicely balanced & weighs in at 4.1kg It is complete with its original tan, pink-lined Gibson HSC still with shroud. Case is very roadworn but functioning fine. Comes with original Japanese Yamano booklet, Gibson hangtag and expired 1980's Gibson warranty card. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story, this is a very cool old ES-335.
