Up for sale is my vintage Music Man StingRay I, an incredible piece of guitar history from the Leo Fender era.
After changing the world of electric guitars with Fender, Leo Fender returned to instrument design with Music Man in the 1970s. The StingRay I, introduced in 1976, was his first new production guitar design following his departure from Fender and showcased his continued desire to push guitar innovation forward, most notably with its revolutionary active electronics.
I am the third owner of this instrument, and it has been incredibly well cared for throughout its life. For a guitar approaching 50 years old, the condition is truly exceptional. It has aged gracefully and retains the character, feel, and soul that only a vintage instrument can have.
The StingRay I is known for its unique combination of a powerful humbucking pickup, active preamp, excellent sustain, and unmistakable tone. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are exactly what you would expect from a golden-era American instrument.
Whether you are a player searching for a unique vintage guitar or a collector looking to own a significant chapter in Leo Fender’s legacy, this StingRay I is a rare opportunity to own a guitar that helped shape the next generation of electric guitar design.
