1963 Gibson Melody Maker D
Here we have a beautifully refinished Gibson Melody Maker, complete with a stunning dark Brazilian Fretboard and the original pair of pickups.
This is all mahogany and rings like a bell and has the earlier, larger vintage Melody Maker pickups which are a lot closer to the P90 sound than the later smaller pickups Gibson use post 1965.
A few changes with replacement bridge and TRC and perhaps a refret, but the body doesn't appear to have been messed with and the pickups etc. look original.
This is an old wood Mahogany body and neck and of course the fretboard is everything you would hope.
It plays with a decent low action and the truss rod works perfectly too.
The neck and nut are full size - before Gibsons went skinny - and it is a nice handful without getting clubby.
Obviously it has been played and there are a variety of dinks around the headstock particularly.
The serial number is impossible to photograph but can still be seen in the right light.
So a Players Grade 1960s Gibson at a nice price.
Comes with a 1970s Gibson Protector Chainsaw Case, which is for an SG/Junior, but works well with a little padding.
