In the 1920s, the Orchestra Model was originally intended as a large guitar that could be heard above other orchestral instruments, hence the name OM. While this model served its purpose, its relatively large body was soon overshadowed by the mighty dreadnought. Santa Cruz was one of the first modern builders to successfully reintroduce this now smaller favorite at the beginning of the 1980s!

With a Moon Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides and Ebony fretboard the sound of this guitar is very versatile; the nuance of fingerstyle playing is preserved, allowing refined solos to be played with ease through the guitar’s full voice. Fingerstyle nuances remain well-defined, but this OM also excels for strumming!

The amount of detail on this OM42 makes it truly special. The binding is made with mahogany. The binding, combined with abalone rosette and purfling makes this guitar absolutely stunning!

This 2025 Santa Cruz OM42 is in near mint condition. Waiting to be played! The guitar comes with a TFOA certificate in a luxury case.
