This is a one of a kind Dana Scoop. A lot of R&D went into arriving at this exact configuration. To start, the pickups consist of a Dimarzio Super 3 in the bridge position and an Air Norton hot rail in the neck position. I tried just about every Dimarzio pickup that could possibly be considered to arrive at this decision. It took an extremely hard Maple wood to be able to make a guitar body strong enough to be able to support the massive cut away that the Dana Scoops have. The bi-product of this is a tone that comes through with wonky minds using almost all pickups. And that just doesn’t go well with a guitar that was purpose built to shred metal. The Super 3 cuts out the mids, thickens up the bottom and sizzles the highs perfectly. It’s amazing to play a Dana Scoop loaded with these pickups. I can almost guarantee you will never want to play a Dana Scoop without them after test driving this pickup selection. And the pickups feed into CTS pots coupled with wiring that should appear to be as neat and clean as it could possibly be. Next it has a full blooded Floyd Rose in it. Not a licensed cheap trem. The back panel had to be custom notched to allow for the full-size bridge block to fit and spring to not rub on the back panel. Don’t worry, a factory unmodified back panel comes with the guitar along with all of the original components that I upgraded. So for some reason, if you decide to revert it to the factory configuration, which I can almost guarantee you won’t do, you will be in possession of everything to be able to do that. The tuners were upgraded to Hip Shot locking tuners. I determined them to be the only tuner that fit the factory footprint, peg diameter and not only work extremely well but look right on the guitar. My knob choice is a bit oversized compared to the factory knobs. But they feel amazingly smooth in the hands and further the “blacked out“ look that I was going for with these guitars. The frets are dressed to feel as smooth at the edges as they could possibly be. And you can bend the high e string all the way across the fretboard with absolutely zero fretting out. Beyond this the body is in great condition with only a couple minor cosmetic imperfections. All are displayed in the photos. The maple bodies of these guitars develop dimples in the finish. Some have one or two. Some have more. This guitar has 3. Almost impossible to see. And even harder to photograph. But they all have them. The original case is included with the guitar. It is in almost mint condition. Hence this guitar hasn’t played many shows. But absolutely deserves to be shown off. Truth be told, I didn’t customize these guitars because I thought that I would someday part with them. I don’t really want to let this guitar go. The work was done to perfection because I did it for myself. Just like you find with all of the guitars that I sell. They are not only my items that I have for sale on Reverb, they are some of my most cherished possessions that I said I would never sell. Built to be the Ferrari‘s that they are.
