Benson did two things that fix everything people quietly tolerate about vintage germanium fuzz, and the result is a pedal you actually trust.

The germanium is temperature controlled, so it never goes spitty, thin, or unpredictable when the room heats up. It sounds the same in a cold basement and under hot lights. On top of that, there is pickup simulator circuitry inside that presents the right load no matter what sits in front of it. Buffers, other pedals, long cable runs, none of it matters.
