For Sale is a 2004 Gibson ES-335 Dot Neck in a Limited Edition Beale Street Blue Figured/Flame Maple finish. These are fairly rare. They stopped making them as a production model in 2005 (I think). They were rare when they were a production model and this instrument is in Excellent Plus condition. This guitar is a closet queen and has remained in its case except for some very limited playing time as I'm more a collector than a player. I'd rate it a 9.5 out of 10. The frets have 100% of their life left and the only visible wear consists of pick scratches on the pick guard and some very light feathering that could easily be buffed out. The guitar weighs in at 9.2 pounds, has a very comfortable neck profile and has has had a recent set-up with 9's.
It is a wonderful sounding, great playing piece that is about as nice in tone and feel as any 335 I have owned. Whether you're into Jazz, Blues or Hard Rock, the 57 Classic pickups are extremely well-balanced and versatile. They put out dynamic tones with lots of bloom, great crunch and smooth sustain.
Bottom Line: This is an exceptional, classy-looking, well-made piece that is versatile and sounds excellent whether played clean or with crunch. This would make a great addition for any player, collector or 335 enthusiast. I want to emphasize that I have been very discerning in the Guitars that have made their way into my collection selecting only what I believe are the top of the line, best-playing instruments I can find.
