Taylor Custom Shop 8 String Baritone Grand Auditorium

Up for sale is an absolute beast of a guitar—a Taylor Custom Shop (BTO) 8-String Baritone in a Grand Auditorium body shape. If you’ve never played a Taylor 8-string baritone, it’s an incredible experience. It gives you that deep, rumbling baritone low-end, but with two octave strings (on the A and D strings) that add a gorgeous, 12-string-like shimmer and chime to the mid-range.

Original Sweetwater invoice and spec sheet are included here. It features a 27" scale length and is tuned B-to-B.

The Specs & Woods

Taylor's custom shop really nailed the wood selection and clean aesthetic on this build:

• Top: Premium Sitka Spruce (Gloss)
• Back & Sides: Mahogany with a gorgeous 3-piece mini wedge design on the back, framed by a custom ebony strip on both sides of the wedge for extra visual definition.
• Neck: Mahogany with a comfortable Standard Carve and an Ebony fretboard (4mm Abalone dots).
• Nut Width: 1-3/4" — feels perfect for accommodating the extra octave strings without feeling overly chunky.
• Appointments: Clean white binding, a classic 3-ring plastic rosette, and an Indian Rosewood peghead veneer with the Taylor Mother of Pearl logo.
• Electronics: Equipped with Taylor's flagship Expression System 2 (ES2), so it sounds just as massive plugged in as it does acoustically.

Condition & What's Included

The guitar has been meticulously cared for, kept humidified, and is in fantastic shape. I would call it mint condition without hesitation, with the exception of very light pickguard wear. The gloss finish looks beautiful, the frets have plenty of life, and the setup is spot-on with Stringjoy Baritone 8-string strings. An extra set of strings is included for your playing enjoyment!

Comes complete with the original premium Taylor deluxe brown hardshell case, which is also in great condition.
