This is a GB-1 500 Series FET compressor and limiter made by David Evans Audio. It's a recreation of the unique Gain Brain compressor circuit from the 70s. This unit is in great working and cosmetic condition. Needs a 500 chassis to function. No other modules are included with this listing.
This is a great comp, excellent at smashing drum room mics, taming peaks, and adding some harmonic distribution. This functions quite different from most compressors, as the Function knob effectively blends between peak and RMS style compression, and can act as a psudo-attack knob. Use the input knob to drive into the fixed threshold, like most FET comps.
