Here we have a 2010 Gibson Custom Shop Collector’s Choice #1 Melvyn Franks 1959 Les Paul VOS! This “Greeny” model is in excellent condition.

Specs include a flame maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, ABR-1 bridge, and Sperzel tuners. It has a 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4” scale length, and a 12” radius. It’s loaded with a set of Burstbucker pickups including an out of phase, reverse mounted neck pickup.

This one is in great shape overall and has been well-maintained all of these years. It’s a VOS guitar, so it has some light patina from the factory. There are a few faint marks and signs of handling, but no damage and no issues.

It weighs 8lbs 8oz. The neck measures .890 to .990 at the 1st and 12th frets. It has a rounded C neck profile with vintage vibes that isn’t overly large. The guitar has an excellent top that is very strong from most angles. We love the color of the back, the Sperzels, and of course the dark board. They really nailed it with this run, and it’s a great example of this era of the Custom Shop.
