Vintage El Dégas 5-string resonator banjo, made in Japan in the 1970s. El Dégas was an import brand modeled on Gibson Mastertone-style banjos — tube-and-plate flange, bracket band, trapdoor tailpiece, dot inlays on a dark fingerboard.

This one is set up and playable: strings hold tension, it tunes up and plays in tune. The wood resonator is clean with intact binding and no buckle rash on the back. Some light finish checking on the headstock, consistent with its age — otherwise very well cared for.

Comes with its original hardshell case.

A solid, great-sounding vintage banjo.
