For sale is a rare vintage 1968 King Vox pickup mic + Octavoice III (Woodwind) effect box.
It includes a Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone neck with the pickup nozzle soldered in.
Place the neck onto your Selmer alto sax, attach the pickup element, plug the cable into your effects pedal or amp and you’re ready to go. The signal is more direct than a microphone so it works very well with your own fx pedals.
Includes the original faux leather pouch and the plastic box for the Octavoice unit, and two extra nozzles that can be soldered into any saxophone neck.
FULL DISCLOSURE: THE OCTAVE FUNCTIONS ON THE OCTAVOICE FX UNIT ARE CURRENTLY NOT WORKING. With the schematics from the internet (see below), an analog electronics expert could probably fix this. But the pickup mic also works without the Octavoice box.
I’ve seen listings for a Selmer Mark VI neck for $750 and the Octavoice box (without pickup element and nozzles) for $185-$550.
