For your vintage-rocking pleasure, I present this 1974 Guild M-75 in natural. I purchased this American-made mahogany monster in 2022 from a listing that said it had been "refinished." To be specific, it's more like "unfinished." Whatever the original finish was on this '74 M-75 (coulda been Cherry, Walnut, Ebony, or Natural), it was stripped off. So there's no paint or lacquer. I have a feeling it was natural, but I can't be sure. It's certainly natural now. Someone savvy enough could have this re-lacquered, but I've been content with it as is.
The only other non-factory aspect of this guitar is the bridge. I bought it this way, with the refinish and non-stock bridge. But the most important aspects of it are well intact and punching strong: the Guild HB1 pickups and the feel.
Vintage Guild solid-body electrics are some of the best USA guitars ever made. This M-75 is no different. It punches on a level with the Norlin-era Gibsons of its time. Some people like the slimmer necks on these vintage Guilds, while others do not. I've always been okay with it. I'm not too picky when it comes to neck sizes/feels, but I know that many players are. I suppose it may depend on the size of one's hands. Mine are average-sized.
Since I've owned this M-75 (August of 2022), I've taken great care of it. It left my house twice, and only for a setup with the top luthier in Salt Lake City. Otherwise, it has lived in my smoke-free home studio and has never gigged or toured.
The HB1 humbuckers are, in my considered and expert opinion, the best humbuckers ever made. They decimate any Gibson PAF and are simply the most addictive-sounding pickups of any guitar I've owned and played. I've owned close to 100 guitars, most of which have been vintage Gibsons, Fenders, and Guilds, and there is no pickup that comes close to touching the O.G. HB1s.
This M-75 will ship in a non-original gigbag. It will be packed with great care in a brand-new box to arrive at its new home safe and sound.
